In honor of this magical experience - because it was just that. Pure magic. We want to tell you why, in fact, we love Disney.
Katy:
1. Because we all have our favorite movies. And while I love what some people refer to as Disney staples like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Snow White, Cinderella, and more... My favorites are a tad bit different...
My brothers and I were brainwashed hazed introduced to these films at an early age. We know every word, every song, every twist and turn of each one of these films. These are movies that you never have to worry about your children watching. They are fun. They are imaginative. They are just a wonderful part of my childhood memories. Pete's Dragon has one of my favorite songs ever that my DZ lil sis and I belted out on regular occasion.
And yes. Gnome Mobile is about very small people - gnomes. They become friends with non-gnomes.
Disney = award winning film making. Clearly.
2. Because imagination is an amazing thing.
I vividly remember the laser light show at the Texas State Fair. I was 8 or 10 or younger - and I thought those green lights synchronized to music was probably the coolest thing I would ever witness.
And then, I saw this...
Yep. That's a video clip of The Little Mermaid being projected onto WATER. And all those tiny fountains surrounding it are about to shoot up synchronized to the song. And then everyone's mouth that is watching hits the floor.
Mr. Disney planned it that way.
We had great "seats" for this but Radley and Emersyn had passed out right as it began. I was a little bummed because I wasn't sure if Landry would "get it". And the thing about Disney is - it speaks to all of us. Her eyes lit up with wonder. I have never seen her smile so big. And then I cried. Because to experience the world through your child's eyes is one of God's greatest gifts.
And if you have 30 minutes to spare - you can watch it here.
(Now if you are like me and don't like a spoiler - then wait until you see it in person.)
3. Because it all started with a Mouse. I don't care how old you are. When Mickey Mouse is standing in front of you a smile just appears on your face.
Well, maybe not everyone. But she will love him eventually! ;)
5. Because Emmy's golden birthday is in 2017. And Disney WORLD is calling our name. Ssshhhh. It's a secret. ;)
I heart Disney soooooooo much that I dragged Ted Mitchell (with promises of golf) there on our honeymoon. Oh yes I did! We are headed back with the Mitchell Men this April (in exactly 156 days, but who's counting?) I have never been to the Land, only the World. I really enjoyed your pics and blog Katy!

I have never been to disneyWORLD but have been to Disney land 3 times. Every time I leave, (4 years old, 16 & 20 years old) I literally cry tears of joy. As tinkerbell does her nightime flight (I think only during the summer)..THAT IS HANDS-DOWN THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! Love the post, gals!
