Mommas Most Wanted: Sheaffer Sims

How fun has this week been y'all? I'd say slap some candy on a stick and cover it in sprinkles fun. But that's just me. And... we don't want to give too much away... but we have a complete submission from someone on this most wanted list. SUCCESS!!! 

And, if you didn't see all the love that Erin sent our way yesterday, don't worry... we aren't above showing you :)

She is seriously the sweetest and we suggest that you get to know her! 

So who's next on this esteemed list of bloggers?

The one and only Sheaffer Sims, aka Pinterest Goddess and Guru of all that is fashion.

The Mommas have discussed at length how amazing it would be if Sheaffer did a guest post... "Pinterest told me to make a Christmas card". See? Amazing. Fun. And clearly merry. 

I mean... picture all of her MUST HAVES:

On a Christmas card. (Ok, maybe not all of them... wedges and the blardigan may not blend). 

But you get the point. 

And we get the point because Pinterest Told Me To told the Merry Mommas to, too. 

(Got it?)

On the left - Merry Momma K in her black, congac and GRAY. Y'all. Black and brown we get (please read the title of that post. The irony is not lost on us. Except we aren't really stalkers... more along the lines of Fan Club Presidents)... but GRAY, too? That's crazy talk. If crazy also means fabulous. And those boots? Well, Sheaffer recommended them and she was also right about those. 

On the right - Merry Momma C is modeling the amazing must have jacket. On her child's first day of KINDERGARTEN. We feel that's a major shout out. So we gave Sheaffer one and you know what she did... 

Yep. She commented. Which is blog code for "I'm totally crushing on you, too". 

(Ok, maybe not. But... mutual admiration for sure). 

And then... she emailed us. (Seriously, if y'all have ever thought about emailing her you should do it. She is so quick to respond and is a doll to "chat" with.) And just like others on our MW list... there at the end... the "a girl can dream" line. 

So Sheaffer Sims. You are officially on our Most Wanted list. And not just ours, but our tens of readers a day want to hear what you have to say about styling your PINspired photo shoot. Mommas Most Wanted: Erin Carroll

 So, what did you think about Kelly? She's great, right? We know. Again, you're welcome. 

You ready to meet crush #3? Well, guess what... she already knows who she is!! Check out our Instagram feed from yesterday...

 

We may or may not have squealed at work, like all 30-something professionals. How fun is that!?!?! 

 

 

So who is "the Blue Eyed Bride"? Well, allow us to introduce you... 

 

And why are we crushing on her? Well that's simple. You generally crush on people that are similar to you.

The list is long.. she's a party planner (We love to plan parties. And photo shoots in case you missed it). She's a mom. (We are moms, too!). She lives in South Carolina (so did Merry Momma C) and lived in Baton Rouge (Merry Momma Ks ENTIRE family lives there). She loves Jesus (us too!). She is  Premier Parent for Dr. Smiths (so is Merry Momma K). She is baptist (Merry Momma C) and her bestie is Catholic (Merry Momma K). AND... they met by BLOGGING!

(And you may know how we feel about blogging).

But, what we love most about Erin is her authenticity. Just read this post.

Did you finish? Because what a powerful message. Grace... don't be afraid to offer and ACCEPT some of your own.  The grace from our kids, especially our eldest, is immeasurable. They are learning how to be humans just like we are learning how to be parents. Thanks for that reminder, Erin.

Mommas Most Wanted: Kelly Stamps

We would like to begin today's post by offering a big giant "you're welcome" to all the new readers/followers/blog stalkers of Melanie. Isn't she great? We know. So "you're welcome." Again. 

We also jumped the gun a bit yesterday - her new book actually comes out today. Just buy it.

And with that...our Most Wanted week continues and we seriously couldn't be more thrilled to share with you about why we love Kelly from Kelly's Korner so much!

Here is a quick 411...

Kelly is the first blog that Cindy got me hooked on. Kelly had just given birth to her first sweet baby girl, Harper, and had some major complications. And while that was probably the scariest moment in her life, what happened was remarkable. In days, Kelly, Scott and Harper brought 1000s of people together in prayer. And y'all...anytime that happens is an amazing thing. She is one of the most popular bloggers around and daily she dedicates her blog to Him and all that he does to glorify the world. 

She never apologizes for who she is. She writes from the heart. She inspires readers daily to strengthen their walk. She offers support and wisdom. And she's real. And we love that about her. (And she would also be totally "chawed" to read all these praises.)

And, besides all that... she is amazingly humble. We got to meet her at dotMom last year along with 1000+ other followers and she stopped and smiled and chatted with each of us. She was so gracious, thanking us for following along in her life and praying for her family. She actually hates all the attention but is so giving of her time. 

On the ride home Cindy and I talked lots about her humility and grace and what a Godly example she is. So, Kelly... if you are reading. THANK YOU. 

Then a few months later, we were sitting in a coffee shop about to go full speed ahead with a new blog adventure. We made sure to email all our family and friends and even though we didn't think she would really respond... sent out some email requests to "famous" people... like Kelly.

Y'all. She literally responded MOMENTS after we hit send. She was the first person to send us an email and be friends with the Merry Mommas on FB. 

(And while that was over 6 months ago and we are still waiting on that card to come in... we are sure that it will hit our inbox soon!) :)

Mommas Most Wanted: Melanie Shankle

February is here and with her arrival brings the time of year dedicated to L-O-V-E. And we all know that the prequel to "first comes love" is a crush. And, like all normal people, the Mommas have some major CRUSHES. Yes, we know we are married, so calm down. We are talking blog crushes - the blogs that hooked us into the crazy interwebs world. The ones that let us in, the ones that make us laugh and cry all at once. The ones that we read religiously for whatever reason. The ones we can count on like old friends to be there when we need them. They seem to always know just what to say and right when to say it. And we love them for it. 

And there is more. (I know, how can there be more than that!?!) These crushes have made the list. What list? Well allow us to introduce... 

So what does this mean? Well, like all good crushes, we are prepared to basically embarrass ourselves - put ourselves out there to show our admiration. And, we need your help, too! These women are on our Most Wanted list - we are dying to show case their Christmas cards and hear all about their Mailbox Memories. Aren't you?!?! We are determined and if you aren't yet convinced allow us to change your mind. We are starting this week off with our BIG crush on Melanie, aka Big Mama. 

Y'all. Seriously. We give you permission to quit reading this post for the next 5 hours, close your office door/turn on the TV for the kiddos/fake a migraine and go catch up on our friend (!), Mel.

Are you done? Good - welcome back. So...back to our crushes. People usually don't get crushes on someone that they have no chance with... which is good for us. See, we think that Melanie is close to sending in her submission. Need proof...

Exhibit A: Book Signing

Our first meet and greet with her, dotMom 2013. An AMAZING event that she MCs every year with her friend, Sophie. We waited in line to get her to sign all 6 copies of our books, and then basically took over. We chatted it up for a solid six minutes and then insisted that Gulley be in the picture with us. 

They loved us so much, in fact...that we all got the ugly laugh out of the convo...

Exhibit B: Soccer Camp

Melanie and I signed our kids up for the SAME camp. Well, the same week of camp. Y'all I ignored my kid for a solid 15 minutes staring at her to make sure it was Melanie. And then sent texts to Cindy and Katelin. And then worked up the courage to remind her that we had become fast friends at dotMom and ask for a pic. 

It was only awkward for a minute. And then maybe every morning that week when I just happened to drop my child off at the exact same time. And I only left him in the car once to make sure that I walked in with her. (I'm lying...he was old enough to get out of the car himself).

Y'all - we chat on PINTEREST. Clearly we are friends. And see... she confirms that she received our email in the post... 

Exhibit D: EMAIL

Y'all. We adore her. And we think you will too (if you don't already.) We sent her an email last week because she is coming to CS for a book signing (!) and if you want to know why we think she's great.... 

I want you to know that we don't just want to feature your card because you are "Big Mama". We want to feature your card because after years of following you and learning about your family, hearing your stories and being "let in" - we find ourselves grateful for your humor and wit, your insight into motherhood and marriage and your value of your friends. (And maybe we really believe that Katy and Cindy are Mel and Gulley)

We started our blog because we have a LOVE for real mail. We love everything about it - the announcements, notes of congrats or condolences, shared stories, gratitude, and these days - the perfect pair of jeans can be waiting in that box. And we aim to inspire people to quit sitting down in front of a screen sending these messages when you can share all of those things in such a personal way. 

We also started this blog because we love blogs and we have a handful that we have been faithful followers of for years. Why? Because these authors are like you - you let us in, you are honest, you are personable. You challenge us to be great moms and wives and friends. You speak with humor and love and realness. You captivate us with your authenticity and vulnerability. And we want to create that space for our readers. We want to let them in and we would be so honored if you would share a little part of your story with us.

and we KNOW that she would be so fun to feature and would LOVE to hear what she has to say. So... here's what we can do...
