Peace from the Hawkins...

Who: Lizett, Jason, Casey and Noah Hawkins

Location: Lick Creek Park, College Station

Props: Jason's most prized possession was our only prop - his 15+ year old Takamine guitar. (I'm surprised he let me hold it ;))

Clothes: Boys are in Old Navy jeans and khakis. (Ummm, mommas, you are in luck because Old Navy is having a major sale that ends TODAY! Click that little link and shop til you drop. It's saving money!)  Casey's chambray shirt (Similar here and only $8!!!) and Noah's plaid button down (Similar here and only $10!!)  is also from Old Navy. Jason and I are in jeans form the Buckle and the boys' Fender guitar shirts are from the Lucky brand outlet store. My Counting Crows is a concert tee and Jason's Johnny Cash shirt is from Target.

Y'all. Let's pause and talk about this style - it's fun, it's trendy and most importantly, it's THEM. We love it. Great job, Momma.

Momments: (As in Mom Comments) Music is a really big deal in our family. We listen to all types of music and love attending concerts as often as we can. Jason has played guitar for many years and we thought it would be fun to incorporate it into our theme last year. We used Galatians 5:22 as our voice of choice this year - it's a beautiful verse that is simple and very meaningful and ended up being the theme at our church for them Christmas season. Since we have a family with all boys it sometimes become challenging to come up with themes for our cards but we really had fun with this one!

Lizett, you accepted the challenge and you hit it out of the park. We love this theme and we love that you incorporated something so special to your family! That's what makes all the difference!

Designer: Nichole Quick of Quick Design Company

Photographer: Sarah Burns of Butterfly Chaser Photography (no longer taking new clients)

Favorite Thing: My favorite thing is that it absolutely suits our personality as a family.

Us, too! We loved it soooo much that we had to put a little board together...

All of these shirts are at Old Navy since they are having that awesome sale (TODAY!). We also found a few more at Kohls:

Blog: Lizett doesn't have a blog (although we would love it if she did) but she DOES manage to amazing event spaces in town! Downtown Bryan Events has two venues for holiday parties available. SEAD Gallery and the Grand Stafford Theater. They have partnered with a few caterers in town and have some awesome packages put together to make the planning as easy as possible. Email Lizett for more information!

PEACE.

TBT - The Guercios

THROW BACK THURSDAY
is back, and this time the whole family is in on the fun!

(Shout out to Pops (Daddy G) for snapping this pic on his phone and sending it our way)

Who: The Guercios - (from left) Greg, Jody, Katy, Jeremy and JoAnne

When: Christmas 1986/1987?

Katy's Thoughts: First, let's talk about the reflection of the smoke detector in the background. Sorry about that - but we couldn't find the card version. :) I think what I love most about this picture is that I am clearly the center of attention in my fancy red dress. And why shouldn't I be? The baby and the only girl = automatic princess status. (Kidding. Not kidding.) My top three favorite things about this picture (mom sent these out in real, hand written cards one year!) - 1. The matching jackets that Ryan and I now own - Christmas 2015? 2. My moms perm! Seriously - bring back the perm!! 3. That I can see my kids' faces in those of me and my brothers. Aren't genetics fun?

Cindy's Thoughts: Y'all.  I am dying!  I LOVE THIS!  I love that it screams "the eighties".  I love that Katy is the center of attention (she kind of demands it!) ;) and that's why I love her!  I love that I know all five of these wonderful people now and they are family to me!  And, I too, LOVE JoAnne's perm. I really am going to get one!  Promise.  For reals.  I'll post a pic when I do!

Get PINspired: If you are dying to try out a picture like this for your cards then you are in luck...
  1. Matching everything? With a perm... then THIS is for you!

TBT - The Brown Girls

Hi friends!  It's Thursday and you know what that means...
Throw Back Thursday
And we have a doosey one for you!

Enjoy!

Who: Cindy and her sister Melinda

When: Christmas 1977

Katy's Thoughts: I kind of adore how happy Melinda is versus the look on Cindy's face! Ha!

Cindy's Thoughts:  I look happy, don't I!?!? Ha!  I am going to assume that the sad face is because Melinda was taking up too much room in the chair and I did not like being squeezed. ;)  But...how can I not love this picture.  It is my FIRST CHRISTMAS!  Additionally, I have on a frilly dress, a bow (though not near as big as I may have put on my daughters), lacy socks and stylin' shoes!  While I wasn't a smiling 5 month old, I am now a smiling adult.  Thanks Mom and Dad for having a Christmas picture made!  Glad we have the memories!

What We Love Wednesday: Props - Tricycles

Hi friends!  As you can see today's post isn't a card.  We thought we might try something fun on Wednesdays called "What We Love Wednesday" and highlight something we LOVE!  This week we are highlighting props, {because we do LOVE a prop} specifically a tricycle!

What: Tricycle

Why:

Cindy -  What's NOT to love about a tricycle?!? It is the quintessential symbol of childhood.  A tricycle is a great prop because most everyone already has one (and if you don't - it's a fairly inexpensive investment that is actually useful/entertaining for the kids) and it adds fun to the photograph without being overwhelming or distracting from the main focus - the cute kiddos!  And here are my sweet, darling, and precious kiddos on a tricycle.

Katy - I think Cindy nailed it - this is a timeless piece that in a world of fast, in your face, crazy technology and sometimes not so wonderful headlines, can bring you back to a slower pace, a simpler time and capture your babies just as they should be - innocent. Our lovely Landry modeling this prop so well...

Get PinSpired:  Go here, here, here and here to see some other cute pics!  Then click here, here and here to see how timeless a tricycle really is!

WE LOVE PROPS, ESPECIALLY A TRICYCLE!

A big thanks to Sarah Burns of Butterfly Chaser Photography for such gorgeous images!!!
